Environmental Policy
Since 2007, Spherea has implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001:2016 standards and applicable regulations. This commitment to sustainability was further recognised with the awarding of the ECOVADIS Silver Medal in 2020.
In 2021, Spherea Test & Services launched a series of initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint. Carbon emissions have been identified as a Significant Environmental Aspect (SEA) and are now closely monitored as part of our overall performance indicators.
In 2024, these efforts were formally integrated into our new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy under our first strategic pillar, accompanied by a clear commitment:
Pillar 1 | Responsible for our environmental footprint
Commitment 1 | Accelerate our decarbonization efforts
Key Actions Since 2021
Scope 1 and 2 Emissions:
- Acceleration of our eco-design strategy, initiated in 2016, through the systematic application of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) to our product offerings;
- Increased reliance on renewable energy sources;
- Transition of our vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric models;
- Implementation of energy-saving measures, such as early shutdown of air conditioning during mid-season, and promotion of eco-responsible behaviors through simple, effective actions.
Our Objective is to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10% by 2030, in alignment with the GHG Protocol.
Scope 3 Emissions:
- Strive for “zero landfill waste” through enhanced recycling and waste reduction initiatives;
- Engage and raise awareness among suppliers via our Environmental, Quality, and Safety Clauses;
- Promote sustainable mobility, with the goal of implementing the Sustainable Mobility Package by 2025;
- Continue to apply Life Cycle Analysis to extend our eco-design approach;
- Extend the lifespan of our products and third-party equipment, particularly in response to ongoing component shortages.
